Die Cellistin Sophie Luise Hage konzertiert regelmäßig sowohl als Solistin, sowie in Zusammenarbeit mit renommierten Ensembles für Alte und Neue Musik im In- und Ausland (u.a. Kammerorchester Basel, Balthasar-Neumann Ensemble, Luzerner Sinfonieorchester, Stuttgarter Kammerorchester). Ihre Konzerttätigkeit führt sie u.a. zu Festivals wie dem Lucerne Festival, Festival d`Aix en Provence, Gstaad Menuhin Festival sowie dem Bachfest Leipzig. Weiter wirkte sie bei zahlreichen CD-Produktionen und Rundfunkaufnahmen mit (Carus-Verlag, ARTE-Produktionen, WDR, RBB).
Sophie Luise Hage wurde in Berlin geboren und war mehrere Jahre Jungstudentin der Universität der Künste Berlin. Anschliessend studierte sie zunächst modernes Violoncello bei Peter Hörr an der Leipziger Hochschule für Musik und Theater „Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy“ und setzte später ihre Studien auf dem Barockcello bei Christophe Coin und Petr Skalka an der renommierten Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Basel fort. 2017 schloss sie ihren Master mit Auszeichnung ab.

Sophie Luise Hage was grown up in a family of musicians in Berlin and is deeply connected with early music and historical performance practice play since a long time. She performs with various baroque and modern ensembles in Basel, Freiburg, Stuttgart, Hamburg and Berlin (Balthasar Neumann Ensemble, Kammerorchester Basel, Luzerner Sinfonieorchester, a.a.). In 2019 she performed for the first time as a soloist at the Lucerne Festival. In 2021 she was part of „Le nozze di Figaro“ at the Festival d‘ Aix en Provence and of „Alcina“ at the Opèra Garnier Paris.
At the age of 11, she became a young student at the Universität der Künste Berlin and was later a member of the Bundesjugendorchester and Junges Klangforum Mitte Europa. After graduating from high school, Sophie Luise Hage first studied German language literature and history in Freiburg and from 2008 violoncello at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Leipzig with Prof. Peter Hörr . From 2011-2013 she was opera academy student at the Staatstheater Wiesbaden. She completed her studies in 2015. This was followed by a Master’s degree as a baroque cellist in Basel with Christoph Coin and Petr Skalka at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, which she completed with distinction in 2017.
In addition to her orchestral activities, Sophie Luise Hage is as modern cellist a chamber music partner of various ensembles in Switzerland and Germany and has a big passion for teaching students.
